In the final days of a normal monthly cycle, the crash of hormones disrupts the serotonin that regulates mood and sleep. Ovaries suck up energy, leaving less for self-control. That’s why willpower flies out the window. Women might binge eat or act impulsively, take shortcuts or the easy way out. Persistence is relatively low. Studies show that women take more naps at this time of the month.
